DC United eMLS Series One Recap

Last week marked the first piece of eMLS action for DC United and Renato Zanelli “renatogz05”. The first event of the two took place in Los Angeles where 22 players competed for the Series One trophy. Philadelphia Union player Cormac Dooley “Doolsta” went 8-3 in the “Regular Season” portion of the tournament on his way to an unstoppable playoff run where he took down reigning Champion Kid M3mito. Renato took on Doolsta in regular season play suffering a 3-2 loss on a late penalty.

Renato showed that he has the skill to take on some of the eMLS best, going 6-4-1 across 11 games earning a total of 19 points. Taking points from playoff competitors FCC Fiddle of FC Cincinnati and PhilB94 of the Montreal Impact. His performance netted him 6th overall in the eastern conference, good enough for middle of the table.

After speaking with Renato he made his determination and focus on Dallas clear. He’s aiming to build off of his performance in Los Angeles, and take home the series 2 trophy in Dallas next month. Renato has had great support from the DMV and he has made DC United superfans proud.
